Jabe Sullivan Butts, Jr., 82, of 436 Whetstone Road, Mountain Rest, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at his home. A native of Walhalla, SC, Mr. Butts was the son of the late Jabe Sullivan Butts, Sr. and Mattie Jane Turner Butts. He retired as a welder from Dempster Systems and was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church.

Mr. Butts is survived by his daughters: Annette Orr (Robert) of West Union, SC and Jan Buchanan (Chad) of El Centro, CA; brother: Crayton Butts of Augusta, GA; sisters: Ello Strickland of Summerville, SC and Louella Bolt of Walhalla, SC; nine grandchildren: Chris Butts, Tim Butts, Randall McCaffrey, Jeremy Alexander, CJ Brewer, Kelly Brewer, Hallie Brewer, Joseph Brewer and Elijah Brewer; and eight great-grandchildren: Austin Butts, Kody Butts, Tyler Orr, Katie Orr, Emily Orr, Tristan Butts, Kharsen Brewer and Mac McCaffery. In addition to his parents, Mr. Butts was preceded in death by his son: Newton E. Butts; brother: Truman Butts; and sisters: Ruby Blackwell, Inez McDaniel and Agnes Martin. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672. The family is at the home of Annette Orr, 127 Lakewood Drive, West Union, SC 29696.
