Jerry Lee Beeman, age 78, life long resident of Elwood, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. Jerry was born on March 6, 1940, in Elwood the son of William G. and Irene (Lunn) Beeman. On June 30, 1962, he married the love of his life Mardella (Bowers) Beeman, and they shared 41 years of marriage before she passed away on Oct.

1, 2003. Jerry graduated from Wendell L Willkie High School in 1958. He retired in 2002, as a sheet-metal worker from Local #20.

He was a member of the Elwood Elks Lodge #368. Jerry enjoyed providing pies during the Thanksgiving holiday to Lincoln Square for their annual dinner. Jerry also enjoyed attending auctions.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren. Jerry is survived by five sons; Tom (Michelle) Beeman of Elwood, John (Teresa) Beeman of Elwood, William (Ashley) Beeman of Greentown, Michael Beeman of Kokomo, and David Beeman of Elwood, four daughters; Margaret Kay (Saul) Martinez of Alexandria, Irene Short of Elwood, Lisa Beeman of Elwood, and Martha (Kristopher) Robison of Elwood, 23 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, three brothers; Robert (Janet) Beeman of Atlanta, IN, William (Opha) Beeman of Elwood, and Harry (Joan) Beeman of AR, two sisters; Shirley Headley of Mooresville, IN and Sharon (Ed) Schafle of AR, several nieces & nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, William G. Beeman, mother, Irene Beeman, wife, Mardella Beeman, sister, Carolyn Herbergher, two brother in laws; Adrian Herberger and William Headley.

Funeral service celebrating Jerry’s life will be at 11 am Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. Ben Capshaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 4 pm – 8 pm, with the Elks memorial service at 7 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to either Lincoln Square Thanksgiving Dinner or the Elwood Elks Lodge.
