Patricia “Patty” J. Wilson, age 67, of Elwood, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side. Patty was born in Hartford City, Indiana on June 15, 1950 to Ronald D. & Dealie M. (Sullivan) Dodds. On June 16, 1973 she married the love of her life James “Jim” Wilson and they shared over 44 years of marriage together.

Patty graduated from Hartford City High School in 1968, and then attended Ball State University earning her bachelors degree in elementary education in 1971. Patty would return to Ball State and earn her Masters Degree in education. Patty was a teacher and taught in both the Elwood Middle School and Oakland Elementary.

She retired in 2013 after over 40 years of teaching. Patty was a former member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Indiana State Teachers Association, ECS Teachers Association, National Education Association, The American Association of University Women and the American Business Women Association. Patty loved traveling with her husband, her family and her friends.

She was an avid reader, loved to knit and enjoyed boating. Patty’s greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Patty is survived by her loving Husband, James “Jim” Wilson of Elwood, Indiana; Mother, Dealie M. Dodds, of Hartford City, Indiana, Daughter, Jamie & husband Kirk Flanagan of Fishers, Indiana, Daughter, Dr. Stephanie & husband Dr. Jason Russ of Fishers, Indiana, Beloved Grandchildren, Olivia Flanagan, Owen Flanagan, Madison, Russ and Harper Russ and Graham Russ.

Sister, Sue & husband Alan Marshall of Frankenmuth, Michigan, Sister, Emma & husband Charley Willis of Springport, Indiana and several Nieces and Nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her Father, Ronald D. Dodds. Funeral service celebrating Patty’s life will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with her niece, Pastor Kristine Marshall officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Quincy Masonic Lodge.
