Obituary for John “Duke” Moore John H. “Duke” Moore, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Martinsville Health and Rehab. He was born March 8, 1948, in Henry County, to the late John Tyler and Sarah Martin Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Hilda Mae Spencer Moore; daughter, Kasandra Moore; son, Marcus Moore; sister, Annie Moore-Grey (Robert); brothers, Clarence “Pookie” Moore (Priscilla), Howard Moore, James Moore, Moses Moore; sister-in-law, Aretha Moore; two nieces; six nephews; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and numerous cousins and other relatives, including three adopted brothers, Alvin “Baby Boy” Grey, Samson “Hambone” Dodson, and John Wayne Martin. The funeral will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at United in Christ Ministries at 211 North Oakland Avenue in Eden, North Carolina with Bishop Chris Carter presiding. Burial will follow at 770 Shady Grove Road, Eden, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends one half-hour before the funeral and at other times at the home of his brother, Clarence Moore, 895 Carver Road, Martinsville, Virginia. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family. On Line condolences may be made at www.
