Obituary for John E. “Jack” “Pappy” Williams John E. “Jack” “Pappy” Williams, 79, of Cross Lanes passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston. He was a colon cancer survivor since the age of 23. Born August 14, 1938 in Washington, PA to the late William John and Sylvia Marie Phillips Williams.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Goff and sister, Karol Jean Weir. Jack retired from M.S. Jacobs and Associates, Charleston with 37 years of service. After retirement he worked as a consultant for Nuflo & Cameron, Texas.
He attended Washington High School and Charleroi High School. Went to Muskingum University where he studied theology. He was a member of the Cross Lanes United Methodist Church.
Pappy was past president of the Trout Unlimited and instrumented the trout in the classroom program, past president of the Cross Lanes Lions Club. Jack was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Surviving is his loving wife of 30 years, Patsy Williams; daughters, Bronwyn Williams, Dedra Jennings, Debbie Shawver (Keith); sisters, Angharad MacEnteer and Karen Walker (Ray); broher-in-law, Willis Weir; grandchildren, Braque Reyes (Scott), Evan Mitchell (Natasha), Chase Mitchell (Jacqueline), Stefani Taylor (Mario), Chesnei McCoy, Tara Jennings (Steve), Shannon Clark, Erik Jennings and Lee Clark.
Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with the Rev. Thomas Holstein officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
