John L. Holcomb, 68, of Sandusky, passed away on May 12, 2018 in Stein Hospice Care Center. He was born near Xenia, Ohio on June 30, 1949. He was one of 10 siblings born to the late Wilbur and Bernice Holcomb.

He graduated from London High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring in 1984. John will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him as the strongest, most generous, and most loving person we have ever known. He is survived by his daughter, Amber Holcomb; sons, Todd and Corey Holcomb; step-daughter, Allison; brother, Larry Holcomb; grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings. Friends may call from 1 p.m. on Friday, May 18 until funeral services begin at 2 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. , Sandusky.

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, with the Marines Corps Forever Honor & Color Guard providing military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to his family or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
