Obituary for Leland D. Garvey Leland D. Garvey, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 15, 1936 in Beloit, WI, the son of Winfred and Genevieve Garvey. Leland was a 1954 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School.

He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1959. Leland married Joan Wagner on July 27, 1963 in Beloit, WI. Leland was employed by Fairbanks Morse as an inspector for 30 years, retiring in 2003.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Alabama in their RV. Leland liked to fish and watch sports. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and a member of the Fairbanks Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Garvey of Beloit, WI; sons, Jeffery (Trudy) Garvey of Brookville, PA and Joseph (Wendy) Garvey of Janesville, WI; grandchildren, Aimee (Steve) Slaugh, Miranda (David) Powell, and Michele Garvey all of PA; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (David) Chrislaw, Gail (Richard) Kuhlow, Jean Garvey, and Marilyn (James) Conley; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Doreen (George) McGinnis and two brothers, Neal and Clifford Garvey. Per Leland’s wishes, there will be no services.

Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
