Leopold “Jamie” Calais November 16, 1988 – January 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card LAFAYETTE/CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at a 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of the Word in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Leopold “Jamie” Calais, age 30, who passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev.

Msgr. Ronald Broussard, pastor of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Jamie was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro where he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.

He was currently employed with Mouton’s Movers in Lafayette. He attended Carencro Middle School and Breaux Bridge High School and was a die-hard gamer. Survivors include four children, Emily Escabor, Aliyah Calais, Jaxyn Torry and Bentley Calais; his father, James Lee Arceneaux, Jr.; his mother, Beatrice Calais; two brothers, Cardara Calais of Lafayette and Sgt.

Mitchell Arceneaux of San Diego, CA; four sisters, Kiriston Arceneaux of Lafayette, Jasmine Calais of Lafayette, Sharmika Arceneaux of Carencro and Chasity Williams of Lafayette; his paternal grandfather, Jimmy Arceneaux and his wife, Elsie, of Carencro; his nanny, Sadonia Arceneaux of Carencro; one Godson, Devin Calais; two Godmothers, Annette Batiste and Bertha Hebert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leopold Calais and Della Starte. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Quinton Thomas, Voorhies “PeeWee” Gotch, Mark Hebert, Colby Carter, Darian Thomas and Sgt. Mitchell Arceneaux. Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, (337) 896-6366, is in charge of arrangements.
