Roshell “RoRo” Wayne Darjean, Sr. September 03, 1975 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Roshell Wayne Darjean, Sr., age 43, who passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Rev.
David Hebert, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Darjean was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Carencro for most of his life where he was a 1994 graduate of Carencro High School. He volunteered many hours of his time coaching the youth of the Carencro community in basketball and football.
He was the owner and operator of Down South Trucking. “RoRo” was a comedian who had nicknames for all of his family and friends. His passion was having a good time with them and cooking.
He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Survivors include his loving wife, Lakesha “Tuts” Johnson Darjean; two sons, Roshell “Junior” Wayne Darjean, Jr. and his fiancée, Reggie Sparrow “Lil Mama”, and Dontae “Booga” Cameron Darjean all of Carencro; two daughters, Ladaysha “Daysha” Renee Domingeaux of Church Point and Jada Lynn “Bookie” Nichole Darjean of Carencro; one grandson, Rhemi Wayne Sparrow; one granddaughter on the way, Royal Roshell Darjean; his mother, Jacqueline “Fido” Lewis Darjean; two brothers, Randy “Irv Gotti” John Darjean, Jr. and his wife, Charlene, of Carencro and James “Woodrow” Reginald Darjean of Lafayette; one sister, Natasha “Knuckle” Montrece Bellard and her husband, Joseph Allen, Jr., of Lafayette; his father-in-law, James “ODB” LaSalle Johnson, Sr. of Carencro; and three brothers-in-law, James “Brother-in-law” LaSalle Johnson, Jr. of Broussard, Ryan “Reco” Keith Johnson and Troy Eric Johnson both of Carencro; He was preceded in death by his father, Randy John Darjean, Sr.; his mother-in-law, Debra Lynn Bordeaux Johnson; and his grandparents, Joseph “TJ” Darjean, Willie Mae Peteet Darjean, Horace Lewis, Sr. and Viola Lewis. A rosary will be prayed at time pending Saturday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday. Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave. , Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
