Obituary of Marjorie Denson Marjorie Naomi Denson, age 90, of Corning, NY passed away the morning of Friday, March 30, 2018 at Absolut Care Of Three Rivers. Marjorie was born December 14, 1927 in Elmira, NY to Walter and Marie (Skillman) Orcutt. She married Royal Denson on August 24, 1946 in Elmira, NY.

Marjorie and Royal spent 71 loving years together. During their entire life together they were inseparable. They enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures.

They spent many days camping, traveling to local casinos, playing tennis, golfing, and enjoyed many years of bowling. They were also avid New York Yankee fans. In their senior years their favorite activity was getting their afternoon snack at the Painted Post McDonalds.

Marjorie always looked forward to the Orcutt Family Reunion every summer. She would never let a holiday go by that she wasn’t with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; where she always made her infamous chocolate cookies and cheesecake. She was a Woman of the Moose in Corning, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary (524), and was a noon monitor for over 20 years at Winfield St. School, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years: Royal Denson; three daughters: Patsy (Gary Miller) Stull of Painted Post, NY, Marilyn Denson of Horseheads, NY and Dawn (Scott) Phenes of Savona, NY; 4 grandchildren: Ryan (Kerri) Phenes of Savona, Kalli (Jeff) Pike of Bel Air, MD, Adam (Melissa) Phenes of Savona, Brandon (Francesca) Phenes of Hornell; 9 great grandchildren: Alivia, Ethan, Kaden, Ally, Asher, Ashli, Abel, Xander, and Addyson; sisters: Katherine Krazinsky of Annapolis, MD; brothers: James (Barbara) Orcutt of Liverpool, NY; sister in law: Kay Orcutt of Elmira Heights; brothers in law: Robert (Bonnie) Stuart of Millport, NY, and Ronald (Maryellen) Stuart of PA; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her parents she is predeceased by her siblings: Virginia, Barbara (Lyman Montayne) and Edward; brother in law: Fred Krazinsky; son in law: Richard Stull; grandson: Kyle Stull. Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 11:00am-1:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Mort Gridley officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery, Painted Post.
