Obituary of Mae Cross Mae R. (Van Etten) Cross, age 84, of Corning, NY died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. Mae was born on March 3, 1934 in Corning to LaVerne and Frances (Allen) Rose, Sr She worked as a quality control inspector at Corning Incorporated.

She enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a member of Women of the Moose in Corning. She is survived by her daughter, Ina (Robert) Froehlich of Corning; sons, Doug (Vickie) Van Etten of Beaver Dams and Richard Van Etten of Painted Post; sisters, Madeline Walker of Painted Post and Jean Kriner of Big Flats; brothers, LaVerne (Joann) Rose, Jr. of Lindley and Harold (Linda) Rose of Corning; 7 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas W. VanEtten, Jr. in 1982 and her second husband, Edward Cross in 2002.

She was also predeceased by her grandson, Shane Van Etten and her great grandson, Maxim Van Etten. Calling hours will be held at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street, Corning, on Friday, April 27th from 3 until 5 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Corning.
