Obituary of Nellie Ellison Nellie B. Ellison, age 82, of Watkins Glen, NY died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Coopers Plains, NY, with her family and faithful dog Sam by her side. Born on September 25, 1935 in Corning, Nellie was the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Daisley) Payne. She married Jack Ellison on December 31, 1962 and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1987.

She had been a health care aide for many years in the Watkins Glen area. Nellie enjoyed nature and being outside, feeding her birds, and gardening. She is survived by four daughters, Penny (Kevin) Rice of Coopers Plains, Georgia (Dana) Hallenbeck of Oak Ridge, TN, Sandy (Dale) Snellenberger of Manchester, CT and Aleta (Norm) Woodward of Warner Robbins, GA; son, Jeffery Ellison of 29 Palms, CA; sister, Rosalie Gigliello of Corning; twelve grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Nellie was welcomed home by her husband Jack, son Gregory Scott Ellison, brothers, Harry, Arthur, Charles, Jesse, and Lindberg Payne, sisters Elizabeth Dell, Azley Lowe, and June Bonomo. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning, with Pastor Gary Hart officiating. Committal service and burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Reading Center, New York.

Memorial donations may be made in Nellie’s name to the Humane Society of Schuyler County.
