Obituary of Mildred Gauss Mildred H. “Midge” Gauss, age 90, of Corning, NY died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Corning Center for Rehabilitation. Midge was born on December 16, 1927 in Corning to William and Millie (Barber) Gauss. She was a graduate of Northside High School in 1947.

She worked for Woolworths for over 43 years. She was a member of North Baptist Church. She volunteered for Founders Pavilion, Corning Hospital, Salvation Army angel tree, and Corning LPGA.

She was a Yankee fan, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, waterskiing, bowling, but most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Dorothy Moore, Delores Przybycien, Charles (Jane) French, Barbara Piper, David Gauss, Daniel (Myral) Gauss, C. James (Sheree) Gauss, Thomas (Lynette) Gauss, Carolyn Kennedy, Charles (Judy) Gauss, and William Gauss; many great nieces and great nephews. Midge was predeceased by her sisters, Floris Gauss, Lillian Gauss, Anna Moore, Kathryn Said-Goodpasture, and Regina French; brothers, William, Louis, David, Charles, John, Ernest, and Floyd Gauss; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 30th from 12 until 2 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Earl Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Midge’s name to North Baptist Church, 127 Sly Avenue, Corning, NY 14830 or to a charity of your choice.

Midge’s family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. .
