Marcell Shirle Krevey , October 30, 1936 — April 21, 2018

Obituary of Marcella Krevey Marcella Shirley Krevey, age 81 of Painted Post, New York passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at North Florida Regional medical Center in Gainesville, Florida with her husband, Edward and son Randal at her side. Marcella was born on October 30, 1936 in Scranton Pennsylvania, the daughter of Nellie (Potkul) Frystak and Anthony Frystak. She married Edward on July 20, 1957.

Marcella was the Valedictorian of her class at Taylor High School. She attended Scranton Business School and Corning Community College earning credits in accounting. She worked for Corning Glass Works at Sullivan Park in as a Comptroller and also was tasked with critical inventory of precious metals and payroll.

She also worked in accounting at Nichols Department Store, Painted Post. Shirley was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Painted Post with husband Edward. Shirley enjoyed life.

She enjoyed doing activities with her boys, dirt bike riding, camping, fishing, and watching them in their sport activities. She was always up for any challenge. She gave water tubing a try, drove out West and to Alaska, vacationing with family, would outlet shop till the car was so packed there was barely room for people in the car, always had time for the grandchildren, and loved board games and puzzles.

Playing Dominos was a family favorite around the holidays. She loved to cook and bake. You never left the house without a full stomach and leftovers to take home.

She loved to spend time with her friends eating out and going on bus trips. The Rod and Gun Club was a favorite for breakfast on the weekends. She is survived by her husband, Edward Krevey of Painted Post, NY; sons: Randal (Sally) Krevey of Waldorf, Maryland, Jeffrey (Terri) Krevey of Pittston, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Nathan, Adam, Kelly, Andrea, Emily; and great grandchildren: Scarlette and Rose.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 115 E. High St., Painted Post, NY. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, 375 Park Ave.
