Marlys L Range December 25, 1935 – February 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Marlys Lorene Range was born December 25, 1935, in Friend, Nebraska to Wayne and Dortha (Palmer) Bruha, the second of three children and went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at her home in Friend at the age of 83. In her youth, Marlys attended grade school in Crete and on April 4, 1953, she was united in marriage to Edward Range in Friend and to this union four children, James, Kim, Thomas and Amy were born. Together they lived in Friend their entire lives, where she eventually worked for Friend Public Schools for over 30 years.

Besides her family being the center of her life, she also enjoyed gardening, lawn care, baking, babysitting, cross stitching, crossword puzzles and painting any and all things needing a fresh coat of paint. Marlys was a member of the Friend Congregational Church and was active with the women’s fellowship of the church. Marlys had a compassionate, caring heart and serving others brought her great joy.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kim and Paul Roth, Omaha, Amy Fredrick and Dave Baker, Lincoln, son, Tom Range, Friend, three grandchildren, Jaeda Roth, Omaha, Dylan Roth, also of Omaha, Miles Fredrick, Lincoln, sister-in-law, Shirley Bruha, Lincoln, several nieces, nephews, including Kathy Vogt, Lincoln, and host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed in 2001, son, James in 1975, brother, Richard Bruha and a sister, Myrna White. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Friend Congregational Church, with Pastor Dave Coleman officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date at Leland Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Dylan Roth, Miles Fredrick, Will Yokel, Pat Gates, Randy Hellbusch and John Chase.

Memorials have been established, and may be directed in care of the family.
