Mary Frances Atkins April 04, 1938 – January 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Mary Frances Atkins, 80, of Dibble, died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her home. The daughter of Bert Orland Underwood and Clella Carpenter (Hunt) Underwood, she was born April 4, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary attended St. Anthony’s Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse at both St. Anthony’s Hospital and Bone and Joint Hospital for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1998.

She was a Christian in faith. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed making various crafts, painting figurines, being outdoors, gardening, and doing yardwork. She raised Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, and miniature horses and enjoyed horseback riding.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Underwood, Ann Verner, and Peggy Mathis; and a niece, Kay Wellner. Mary is survived by one daughter, Cindy Poe and her husband, Ronnie, of Dibble; one son, Bob Atkins and his wife, Gayla, of Oklahoma City; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Jane Underwood of Oklahoma City; one brother, Jim Underwood and his wife, Nancy, of Lafayette, Louisiana; her former husband, John Atkins of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.
