Lester Lee Dougherty August 20, 1943 – November 02, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Lester Lee Dougherty, 75, of Newcastle died Friday, November 2, 2018, in Oklahoma City. The son of Leo Munford Dougherty and Ottie Faye (Ford) Dougherty, he was born August 20, 1943, in Abilene, Texas. Les grew up and attended grade school and high school in Sentinel, Oklahoma, where he played baseball for the Sentinel Bulldogs and graduated in 1962.

He was baptized at the Sentinel Church of Christ when he was twelve years old. He moved to Fresno, California in 1963 to attend the Stamps School of Music where he studied under L.D. Huffstuffler. Les married Karen Glenna Lewis on October 16, 1964, in Fresno, California.

He worked for many years as a warehouseman until his retirement. Les was a founding member of Whispering Pines Church of Christ in Tuttle. In his spare time, Les enjoyed playing golf, softball, and basketball, and singing in the Good News Quartet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and a brother, Cliff Dougherty. Les is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Dougherty of Newcastle; two daughters, Tammy Clark and her husband, Danny, of Mariposa, California, and Missy Dougherty of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Andrew Clark of California, Michael Rios of California, Molly Osburn of Oregon, and Serena Rios of California; seven great grandchildren, and one more on the way; his sister-in-law, Zoria Dougherty of Newcastle; two nieces and their families, Patrice Wesnidge and husband, Steve, of Newcastle, and Kim O’Dell and husband, Larry, of Newcastle; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Whispering Pines Church of Christ in Tuttle. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
