Mary Wilma (Agle) Troxell of South Charleston peacefully passed away, early the morning of July 21st, 2018. She was born on August 26th, 1930, the daughter of the late Archie and Marjorie Agle. Recently, the Lord called for her husband, Richard Troxell, on June 28th, 2018.

Richard and Mary spent 65 years together with planting and harvest seasons as their favorite times of the year. All her life, Mary truly enjoyed agriculture but, most importantly, being a farmer’s wife. Richard always knew… Read More » it was time for dinner when the front porch light turned on.

Mary is survived by her three children: Rick (Jeanne) Troxell, Tom (Julie) Troxell, Amy (Tim) Elliott, eight beautiful grandchildren: Josh (Chelsea), Charlie (Lori), Luke (Heidi), Chris, Jake (Shannon), Matt (Stephanie), Jeff (Ashley), and Rachel (Jon), nine amazing great grandchildren and one sister, Phyllis Mitch. Mary graduated from The Ohio State University College of Nursing and began putting other people and their health as priority for 5 years. Later, she graduated from Wittenberg University and Wright State University with degrees in Education.

As a teacher, Mary had the opportunity to impact the lives of first and third graders from Rockway and Reid for 30+ years. Prior to college, she graduated from Plattsburg High School, Class of 1948. Her loyalty to Plattsburg lasted for 60+ years as a member of the United Church of Christ.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 4-7 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plattsburg United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or the donor’s favorite charity.
