Pansy Austin Robinson passed away at the age of 101 at the Brian Center of Spruce Pine on Wednesday May15, 2018, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was formerly from the Indian Creek community until going into a nursing home 11 years ago. She was a daughter of the late Joe and Ella Mae Austin.

She was the wife of Doug Robinson, who died in 1969. She was also preceded in death by a son: Charles Robinson in 2007; infant sisters: Paralee and Betty Jo Austin; sisters: Billie Jean Goodman, Reva Ferguson, Ruth Badame and Thelma Westall; and brothers: Dot and Creed Austin. Pansy was a good and caring person.

She loved her family, and enjoyed trips to Arizona, California and Nevada. In her younger days she made many hooked rugs, quilted and did lots of canning. She enjoyed working in her garden, yard and flowers.

She did her own weed eating till she was in her late 80’s. Surviving is her loving daughter: Phyllis R Dupree and husband, Wayne, of Burnsville; grandchildren: Doug Filban and wife, Renease, and Chris Robinson and wife, Martha; great grandchildren: Dahlia and Devin Filban, step great grandson: Justin Praytor, Emily R Hollifield and husband, Cody, and Karey Robinson; great, great grandson: Kaden Hollifield; two brothers: Bruce and Ned Austin of Burnsville; and her daughter- in- law: Earlene Robinson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 20, 2018, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Stacey Elkins will officiate.

Burial will be in the Doug Robinson Cemetery on Indian Creek. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: grandsons: Chris Robinson and Doug Filban; great grandsons: Devin Filban and Justin Praytor; and nephews: Bobby Lee Austin and J.D. Austin Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Blue Ridge and Palliative Care, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777 in honor of the care given to her in the last months.
