Obituary for Richard J. “Dick” Kowalski Richard James “Dick” Kowalski, 65, of Grand Island passed away at his home Thursday, April 19, 2018, with his family at his side. Service and celebration of Richard’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Dick was born February 28, 1953, in Grand Island to Donald and Betty (Verley) Kowalski. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Northwest High School, class of 1972.

On June 8, 1974, he married Sue Jaixen and they made their home in Grand Island. Dick was highly involved with Third City Radio Association. A lifetime member, the organization was near and dear to his heart.

He enjoyed his collections of eagles and John Deere paraphernalia. Known to be stubborn to a fault, Dick was also compassionate, enjoyed people and never met a stranger. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jeremy Herrold and grandson, Chandler Keezer of Grand Island; sister, Sandi Buhrman of Grand Island; and brother, John Kowalski of Escondido, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Kowalski; granddaughter, Savannah Herrold; and brother, Keith Kowalski.
