Obituary for Todd W. Otto Todd W. Otto, 56 of Rural Phillips, died Thursday, April 19, 2018. Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Bosselman Conference Center at Fonner Park. Daniel Naranjo will officiate.

Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. A memorial fund will be established in memory of Todd.

Todd was born September 5, 1961 at Saint Francis in Grand Island, the son of W.K. and Beverly (Stewart) Otto. He was raised and continued to live on the family farm south of Phillips. Todd is a graduate of Aurora High School class of 1979.

He received his Business-Finance Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1983. On June 25, 1994 he was united in marriage to Dawyn Vogel. He worked for the Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association from 1985-87.

He continued his career at Fonner Park in December of 1988, serving most recently as the Chief Operating Officer and manager of Keno. Some of Todd’s memberships included Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Riverside Country Club, Grand Island Saddle Club and served on the Phillips Cemetery Association. Todd thought the world of his daughter, Abbie, and enjoyed traveling to MLB games and various horse race tracks across the country.

He was a kind-hearted man who would silently help those in need without expecting anything in return. Todd also enjoyed managing his family’s farm outside of Phillips. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dawyn; their daughter, Abbie; sister, Sue (Gary) Washburn and family of Lincoln; brothers, Tim Otto of Aurora and Randy Otto of Rolling Hills, California; his mother-in-law, Patricia Vogel of Grand Island and his special aunt, Marilyn Fischer of Grand Island.

He will be sadly missed by his horse racing family and many other friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and father-in-law, Don Vogel. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Todd W. Otto please visit our Sympathy Store.
