Rose Mendoza Vasquez passed away peacefully at her home on June 3, 2018 with her husband and family by her side. She was born in Phoenix, AZ on August 30, 1935. She is survived by her husband, Epifanio “Chano” Vasquez of Santa Maria, her son Benjamin “Benny” Vasquez of Orcutt and her daughter Linda (Mike) Kestler of Orcutt.

She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Vanessa Chaney, Michael Rosales Jr., Amanda Juarez, Jordan Vasquez, Jillian Rodriguez, Haley Kestler, Sommer Vasquez, Mackenzie… Read More » Kestler and Erika Vasquez. She also has 5 great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Juarez, Alexi Juarez, Jayden Csotya-Vasquez, Colton Chaney and Audrina Chaney. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Rodriguez.

She also leaves behind many family members in Santa Maria, CA. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Chiquita. Rose was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ.

She moved to Santa Maria, CA in 1961 where she met the love of her life, Chano. They were married for 55 years and raised their 3 children in Old Orcutt. Rose worked for Mission Linen Supply in Santa Maria for over 50 years, where she worked alongside many coworkers who became like a second family to her.

Rose was known for her generosity, her compassion, her respect for others and her loving spirit. She always put others before herself. She was like a mother to all who knew her.

All the kids in Old Orcutt would come to her home for her homemade tortillas. Rose loved hosting parties and family barbecues. Her family will greatly cherish all the loving memories of her.

Funeral services will be as follows: Thursday June 14, at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary. Viewing at 5:00pm, Rosary at 6:00pm. Friday June 15, at St. Louis de Monfort Catholic church, Mass at 1:00pm, followed immediately by graveside service at Santa Maria cemetery.

Reception to follow at Orcutt Lions Club at 4:00pm. In honor of her memory, guests are welcome to wear Rose’s favorite color, red.
