Shirley Elizabeth Bowser, 85, of Grantsville, MD, died Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD. Born April 24, 1933, in the Cove, MD, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Elizabeth (Gatterman) Bowser. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Regina Bowser, Beulah Abbey and Anna Baluch; and two brothers, William and Wayne Lee Bowser.

Miss Bowser was a prep cook for the Lone Star Restaurant and Dulany’s Restaurant. She was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church. She is survived by one brother, Cecil Bowser, Fort Hill, PA; six nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Russell Zang officiating. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran (ELCA) Cemetery, Accident, MD. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
