B. Jeanie Byrkett, 83 MARION – B. Jeanie Byrkett, 83, went to be with the Lord at 12:35 a.m. on June 22, 2018 at her daughter’s residence in Hartford City. She was born in Logansport on September 13, 1934 to the late Dormus Bebee and the late Janice (Fickle) Bebee-Nichols. Jeanie married the love of her life, Gene C. Byrkett on March 27, 1953 in Logansport.

They spent 40 years together before he passed away on December 9, 1993. She formerly worked at Rolling Meadows Health… Read More » and Rehab Center in Lafontaine. Jeanie was a member of St. James Lutheran Church for many years.

She enjoyed winters in Florida, board games and playing cards, but most of all her family was her life, she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanie will be sadly missed by her children, Cindy (husband, Jay) Hayes of Amboy, Peggy (husband, Randy) Burnside of Hartford City, Dave (wife, Michelle) Byrkett of Shipshewana and Greg (wife, Teresa) Byrkett of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, William Nichols of Monticello. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Joel Hayes, brothers, Don Bebee and C. Shannon “Bucky” Bebee.

There will be no viewing, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date and her cremains will be interred on the Family Lot at Grant Memorial Park. Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.
