Burial will follow at the Nathanael Lutheran Cemetery with military honors and Air Force flag presentation. Bruce Lind Jacobsen, age 66, lost his challenging medical fight on January 18, 2019 to RA, COPD, CHF, and diabetes.

Bruce was born on June 22, 1952 to Glenn and Bernice (Brenteson) Jacobsen, the oldest of five children: Bruce, Diane, Brian, Glenn and Tina. Bruce grew up on his grandfather Jens Lind’s homestead and family farm west of Reserve, MT. He attended school through the 6th grade at Rock Springs west of Reserve, and graduated from Medicine Lake High School in 1970.

He then attended EMC in Billings and MSU in Bozeman. On June 11, 1972 he married Diane Kay Beckers. He enlisted in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic, where twins Jenny and Robert were born in Great Falls, MT and Carrie was born at Ellsworth AFB, SD.

When Bruce was discharged in 1976, he moved his family home to farm as the 3rd generation farmer. Bruce actively farmed and raised cattle for 35 years, retiring in 2013. Bruce was one of the founding members of the Rifle and Pistol Club.

He served on the Sheridan County Soil Conservation Board for 20 years, the Reserve Elevator Board for many years, and was a member of the Elks Club, the NRA, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Anyone who knew Bruce would say that his passion about the 2nd Amendment was unparalleled to none. He enjoyed researching and learning anything and everything published about firearms, from individual components to ballistics, and then sharing his knowledge with anyone who was willing to listen.

He enjoyed his firearms collection and was especially happy to be able to shoot his custom . 50 caliber rifle, which he designed from start to finish. Bruce was happiest when was able to spend time with his granddaughters, Lillie and Emmi.

He was a huge tease his entire life. Even through all of his medical issues, he never lost the desire to play with and tease his granddaughters. Of everything in life, one of Bruce’s most proud accomplishments was his 31 years of sobriety, but mostly he was proud of his children.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane, and by his children: Jenny (Duarte Rosa and daughter Lillian) of Billings, MT; Robert (Kyle Damon) of Sacramento, CA; and Carrie (Jason Odenbach and daughter Emmi) of Buchanan, ND. He is also survived by his mother Bernice Jacobsen of Plentywood, sister Diane (Charlie Archer) of Plentywood, brother Brian (Nina) of Reserve, brother Glenn (Betsy) of Missoula, sister Tina (Bob Montgomery) of Sidney, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn.
