Elizabeth “Betty”‘s Obituary Elizabeth “Betty” Renfandt, 87, Velva, formerly of Minot, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at a Velva assisted living facility. Betty was born on December 16, 1931 to Archie and Myra (Bean) Johnson in Minot. Her family resided in Donnybrook before they moved to Minot, where she would graduate from St. Leo’s Catholic High School.

Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd Renfandt on January 16, 1954. She worked at NSP and then with SRT in their telephone division before she retired. Lloyd passed away on July 19, 2005.

When she was younger, Betty taught CCD classes at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she was a member. Betty also volunteered at Trinity Hospital and the Scandinavian Heritage Center in Minot. Betty is survived by her children: Jerry (Susan) Renfandt, Minot, and Joan (Chuck) Zander, Colorado; sister, Rosemary (Maynard) Erickson, Minot; half-brothers, Bruce, Jim and Terry Johnson; grandchildren, Quinn Renfandt, Cecily Zande and Derek Zander; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Rodney. Visitation: Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Rosary: Tuesday, January 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
