VALENTI “Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather” Emilio P. Valenti age 93 of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Frances Mary (Shukis) Valenti. Emilio was born February 14, 1925 in Waterbury, a son of the late Emilio M. and Philomena (Bisconti) Valenti.

He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. Emilio proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Emilio had worked as a firefighter for the City of Waterbury for 37 years and two months as a driver of Ladder Truck 2.

He also worked as a part-time mechanic at Bradshaw AMC/Jeep in Oakville. He was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan. Besides his wife of 66 years, he leaves his son Lorin Valenti and his wife Lisa of Waterbury, his daughter Lucia Prigionieri and her husband Daniel of Waterbury, four grandchildren Kasara and her significant other Dorat (Rock), Breana, Lorin Jr. and Stephanie, his great grandchild Taelor and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Valenti and three sisters Anne Costello, Lucy Lynch and Jean Rinaldi. Arrangements: Funeral Wednesday 10 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Blessed Sacrament Church to celebrate Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lithuanian Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
