Matoula Tsetsos November 05, 1933 – February 26, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book WATERBURY Matoula Tsetsos “Beloved Mother & Yiayia” Matoula (Demou) Tsetsos, 85, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Tuesday morning, February 26, 2019, in the comfort of her son’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Kosmas N. Tsetsos. Matoula was born in Eptahorion, Greece, on November 5, 1933, daughter of the late Dimitri and Marianthi (Gitas) Demou.

She came to the United States with her husband and son in 1967 to start a new life in America. She worked at Timex Corp. , Anchor Fasteners, Waterbury Companies and the Siemon Company.

Some hobbies of hers were knitting, crocheting and tending to her garden. Matoula faithfully would go to church on Sunday’s and loved spending time with her family. Everyone is going to miss her homemade Greek dishes and desserts.

Matoula leaves behind to cherish her memory son; Michael Tsetsos and his wife Despina “Debbie” of Waterbury and her three grandchildren; Matoula Tsetsos and her fiancé Mario Luis, Kosmas Tsetsos and Eleni Tsetsos, all of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her two siblings; Miltiadis Demou and Kiratzo Demou Giannouli. Matoula’s family would like to give a special thanks to Seasons Hospice of Middlebury and all of their nurses, especially Jasmin, as well as family friends Amanda Mastropietro and Mallory Kloss for all of the exceptional care they gave to her.

Arrangements: A calling hour will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.

A Trisagion service will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, Thursday morning.
