Majzun (nee: Spencer), 92 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Lutheran Home in Westlake, following a full and meaningful life. She was born March 4, 1926 in Iowa where she was raised. As a young woman Bertie moved to Ohio.

Amherst has been her home for over forty years. She was employed as a toll collector for the Ohio Turnpike Commission for over fifteen years. Bertie was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst for over thirty-five years, serving as a Sunday School teacher for twenty-five of those years.

Bertie had a servant’s heart for the shut- ins and hospitalized of the church. Survivors include her husband of forty years John S. Majzun; her daughters Karen S. McPhie of Avon and Susan R. Sroka (Robert) of Bay Village; her grandchildren; Christopher McPhie, Jennifer Rerko, Jarod Keron, and Nathan Keron; great grandchildren Moriah McPhie, Isabella Stull, Olivia Stull, Katelyn McPhie and Liam Keron. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Jessie Spencer (nee: May).

Friends may call Wednesday January 30, 2019 from 11:30 until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake Street, Amherst. The Rev. Alex VanCuran, pastor will officiate.

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake Street, Amherst, OH 44001.
