Janita “Janet” Marie Smith Lanham, 76, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital on September 19, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jasonville, Indiana on June 12, 1942, the daughter of Floyd F. and Beulah P. (Barton) Smith. She graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1960.

Janet worked at Modern Albums in Terre Haute and later retired from CBS Records after having worked there for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Beulah Smith; her husband Jim Lanham whom she married in June 11, 1986; sisters Elizabeth Pearl Smith and Dora Ann Smith.

Janet is survived by her daughters: Rebecca Moeller of Terre Haute and Roberta LaBaume and husband Jim of Brazil; grandkids John Moeller, Eric Moeller, Christopher Swenson, Amanda Swenson, Britney LaBaume, and Travis LaBaume; 2 great-grandkids: Trinity and Serenity; siblings: Charles Smith and wife Patsy of Brazil, Robert Smith and wife Jewell of Brazil, Donald Smith and wife Jean of Seelyville, Dianne Priest and husband George of Brazil; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 4-8pm.

Services will be at the funeral home, on Tuesday, at 11:00am with Pastor Chris Gregg officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visit www.
