Marvin W. Gossett, 82 of Brazil, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 14, 1936 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of Rufus Lee Gossett and Helen Sims Gossett. He graduated from Clinton High School, 1954.

Marv had a career as a corporate pilot for Bindley Western Drug Company and was Chief Pilot and Director of Transportation. He had a gift of “telling the story” and could remember details about adventures and experiences from all over the world.

Marv was united in marriage to Mary Anne Garrigus Gossett on January 27, 1968. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2018. They enjoyed their almost 50 years together, treasuring their time together.

Marv was a life-time member of the Brazil Elks Lodge #762; he served as Treasurer of Clay County Mental Health Association and as a member of the Katherine Hamilton Mental Health Center board of directors. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sons, Tim Gossett and his wife Carla of Avon, and Tony Gossett and wife Sally of Rockville; grandchildren, Lucas Gossett (Stacy), Brain Gossett (Kelsey), Joe Gossett (Sierra), Anthony Gossett (Megan), Ben Gossett and Rosa Gossett; great-grandchildren, Abram, Addilyn, Nash, Jagger, Parker and Layton; one sister in law, Janice Mote of Portage, IN; niece Jennifer Good (Mike); great-nephews Josh Good, and Jonah Good and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Anne Gossett; one brother Robert Gossett. Services will be held on Monday at 11:00am at French Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Koch officiating.

Music will be provided by Steve McCullough. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home and again Monday prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to the Clay County Humane Shelter, P.O. Box 277, Brazil, IN. 47834. Pallbearers will include Luke Gossett, Joe Gossett, Brian Gossett, Anthony Gossett, and Tim Gossett.
