Jerry W. Buck, 74, of Brazil, Indiana passed away at his home on September 27, 2018 following a brief illness. He was born on February 26, 1944, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Raymond and Jane (Gill) Buck. Jerry married Susie Short on August 15, 1961.

In 1962, just a few months later, he graduated from Brazil High School. Jerry worked in accounting, with his father, at his business “Buck Accounting”. In 1971 he began taking classes at Georgia State University.

In 1975 he earned a… Read More » bachelor’s degree and later his Certified Public Accountant license. He, along with his brother-in-law Dusty Rhodes, owned and operated Buck – Rhodes Ford Lincoln Mercury, in Brazil. After selling his part of the business to Dusty he began working, full time, as an accountant again.

In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, going on cruises, traveling and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Raymond Buck and Eleanor Buck and mother and step-father Jane George and Bill George and his daughter Betsy Calderhead and a grand-daughter Chelsea Calderhead. He is survived by his wife Susie Buck of Brazil; a daughter Robin Singer and husband Jay of Brazil; a son Chris Buck and wife Molly of Brazil; grandchildren: Jared Calderhead, Dakota Calderhead, Connor Calderhead, Josh Singer, Brittany McClellan (Kraig), Hannah Singer (Jonathon Russell), Lindsey Fields (Travis), Ady McQueen, and Libby Buck; great-grandchildren: Cullen Singer, June Singer, Owen McClellan, Cora McClellan, Jade Fields, Mila Fields, Kida Fields, Ryker Miller, Liam Singer, Lainey Singer, and Arya Russell; siblings: Charles Buck (Marsha), Susie VanDoren (Rich), Leila Anders (Larry), Pat Pell, Diane Thornton, and Mark George (Jackie) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 Brazil, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 11-1. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 1:00pm with his brother-in-law Rev.

Rich VanDoren officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clay County Humane Society 8280 N County Rd 125 W, Brazil, IN 47834 or the YMCA of Clay County 225 E Kruzan St, Brazil, IN 47834.
