Life Story for Johnny Baker BRUCE—Johnny Wayne Baker, 49, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. Born October 22, 1968, he was the son of the late Buddy Baker and the late Dorothy Snellings. Johnny was introduced to Christ at an early age.

Later in life he joined New Hope Church of God in Christ where he worked faithfully until his untimely death. Johnny was educated in the Calhoun City school system, and worked for Golden Chair for a number of years. He was devoted to his Church, where he worked faithfully.

If anybody needed anything done, call Johnny. He would do his very best to take care of it. One of his passions was cooking, and boy, those deviled eggs!

He was a very kind and good hearted person, and he will be truly missed in the community. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving his family. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at New Hope Church of God in Christ in Bruce. Elder Willie Parker and Bro. Dwight Brown will be officiating.

There will also be visitation on Friday from 12:00pm until service time at 1:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Madkins, Michael Herrod, Dan Hall, Benjamin Williams, Taj Gibson, and Roman Moore. Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory his step-father, Jerry Snellings; a brother, James (Jessica) Baker of Gore Springs; a sister, Kaye (Mike) Smith of Vardaman; four aunts, Gloria (Larry) Bramlett of Florida, Judy (Arnold) Elliott, Linda (Ronnie ) Easley, and Shirley (Sonny) Keeton of Bruce; an uncle, Jimmy (Jan) Coker of Calhoun City; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, and also his New Hope Church Family, Emma Ruth Thomas, Norma Madkins, and Makesha Harris.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Buddy Baker and Dorothy Snellings, and his son, Eric Tyrone Baker. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at pryorfuneralhome.com.
