Long A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Andrew Cemetery in Friend, with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the graveside service on Thursday. Memorials are directed in care of the family for later designation.

Judith “Judy” Kay Long was born June 19, 1943 at Deer River, Minnesota to Frederick Mitchell and Donna Faye (Dorry) Dutcher, the second of five children. She passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 17 days. As a young girl she was resilient and overcame many challenges.

Judy was united in marriage on January 13, 1973, to Joseph D. Long at Camden, North Carolina and their union was blessed with three children. Judy was very artistic, an excellent cook and was a devoted business owner. In Friend, she owned Yocim’s Café for a time and enjoyed setting up computer systems for others.

In her later years, she enjoyed the mind-stimulating games that the computer can offer. She also enjoyed creating ceramics and other venues of creation. Her family was the joy of her life.

Judy was caring and loving to all her family, friends, and acquaintances. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gabe Elliott, Louisville, KY, sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Trina Long, Geneva, Anthony Long, Lincoln, five granddaughters, Kricket Puyot, Kiesha Hollman, Kaitlyn Farber, Kira Long, and Skye Long, four great-grandchildren, sister, Patricia Kennedy, Houston, TX, sister-in-law, Mary Jordan, Dallas, TX, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends and especially her beloved dog, ShiShi. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph in 2018, brother, Fred Dutcher, brothers-in-law, Charles, David, and John Kramer and James Long.
