Obituary for Katherine Sue Hess (Thomas) Katherine Sue Thomas Hess, age 51, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (January 11, 2019) in a Lebanon, Virginia nursing facility. Born February 15, 1967 in Greeneville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Barbara Harris Thomas. She had spent most of her life in the southwest Virginia area and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a 1985 graduate of Honaker High School and had earned her Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration from Radford University. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing ceramics work. Survivors include one sister, Natalie Ruth Thomas of Honaker; one brother, Nathan Bradley Thomas of Lebanon; aunts and uncles, Anna Harris of Honaker, Eula Gay Hess and husband, Harlis of Rosedale; Gene Harris and wife, Hazel of Prosperity, South Carolina, Lawrence Harris and wife, Zola of Hansonville, and Graden Thomas of Frazesburg, Ohio; special friend, Scarlett Baker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees, staff, and residents of Kissito Healthcare Maple Grove of Lebanon, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Fred Reynolds and Rev.
Ray Bostic officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
