CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – William D. “Bill” Stewart, 81, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Virginia. He was born in Dante, Virginia, son of the late John Brady, Sr. and Mary Lou Kelch Stewart. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He loved golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of Morning Star Church in Castlewood, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Peggy Stewart; two daughters, Lisa Moore and husband, Larry of Castlewood, Virginia and Teresa Burns and husband, Curt of Dante, Virginia; two grandsons, Adam Moore and wife, Carrie of Lebanon, Virginia and Aaron Moore of Castlewood, Virginia; two sisters, Shirley Hall and her companion, Olaf Kennedy of Castlewood, Virginia and Norma Jarrett and husband, Harry of Moneta, Virginia; two brothers, John B.Stewart, Jr.and wife, Nell of Castlewood, Virginia and Steve Stewart and wife, Kay of Castlewood, Virginia; a special friend, Doug Cassell; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for William D. “Bill” Stewart will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Woody Scott officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in Temple Hill Memorial Park , Castlewood, Virginia.

Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Virginia National Guard. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Members of Morning Star Church.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. On line condolences may be sent to the Stewart family through our website and a video tribute may be viewed at www. castlewoodfuneralhome.com.
