Obituary of William Robert “Buzz” Kushmaul William “Buzz” Robert Kushmaul, 56, of Gladwin, formerly of Long Beach, California, our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland. Bill was born October 12, 1961 in Bay City, the son of William D. Kushmaul I and Mary L. (Balconi) Supernant. Bill, or “Buzz” as he was known by his family and friends, graduated from Bay City Central High School, Class of 1979 and went on to attend Long Beach City College in California – where he excelled at water polo.

For 26 years, Buzz was a highly respected Marine Safety Officer for the City of Long Beach. Following his retirement, he returned to Michigan and spent time pursuing his passion for hunting and fishing – especially at his family’s Wild Woods Ranch in Nester Twp. , Roscommon County.

Buzz leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary; sisters, Marie (Terry) Grenell, of Freeland, and Melissa Monteleone of Clovis, California; nephew, T.J. (Stacy) Mulholland; nieces, Marisa (Anthony) Colacion, Ashley Bernard, and Justine Jahr; ten great-nephews; one great-niece; a special aunt, Nebbie Kushmaul; cousins, Barb Murphy, John Morehouse, Lee Fullerton, Sandy Murphy, and Don Kushmaul, along with many friends and his faithful beagle, Paige. Buzz was welcomed home to heaven by his father, William; his older brother, William D. Kushmaul II, and step-father, Michael J. Supernant. We will always remember his inescapable sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Bill’s Rite of Committal will be held privately on Monday, June 11, 2018 in St. Andrew Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Buzz may be directed to Quality Deer Management – Northern Jack Pine Branch, 871 W. Ogemaw Center Rd. , West Branch, MI 48661.
