Obituary for Willie Buford Sargent Mr. Willie B. Sargent, age 91, of the Kent’s Ridge Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (January 13, 2019) at the home of his daughter. Born May 30, 1927 in Honaker, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Jennie Ray Sargent. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Pentecostal faith.

He had formerly been employed as a truck driver with Southern States for over twenty-five years, but enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Reynolds Sargent, one grandson, David Casey, two brothers, Clarence Sargent and Edgar Sargent, and one sister, Roberta Ray. In his generation, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Casey and husband, Ernest, and Juanita Perkins and husband, Ronnie all of Honaker; two sons, Wayne Sargent and wife, Patty of Abingdon, and Wendell Sargent and wife, Lisa of Swords Creek; special daughter, Jeanette Lemons; six grandchildren, Keith Perkins, Chaisty Belcher, Cody Casey, Douglas Sargent, Christina Tyler, and Brittany Sargent; special friend, Kole Reynolds; several great-grandchildren also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Legacy Hospice, Sarah Ellis, and Debbie Vance. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev.

Gerald Lester and Rev. Steve Lester officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Lebanon, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Keith Perkins, John Belcher, Terry Hill, Mike Miller, Kevin Reynolds, Dakota Hess, Daniel Perkins, and Douglas Sargent. Honorary pallbearers will be Kole Reynolds and Cody Casey. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 5:00 PM Tuesday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
