Daniel Wilson Watring, 73, of Deer Park, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2018, at his home. Born November 2, 1944, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Delpha Wilson and Marguerite Florence (Winters) Watring. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia Pearl “Perk” (Tasker) Collins; a daughter, Pammy Watring; his stepmother, Mable Elsie (Winters) Watring; one brother, Johnny Watring; one sister, JoAnn Watring; one stepsister, Ruth DeWitt.

Daniel was a coal miner at Mettiki Coal. He also worked at Bausch & Lomb and in sawmills in his younger years. Daniel was a lifetime member of the Deer Park Sportsman Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two stepsons, Glenn Dale Collins (Donna), Deer Park; Floyd C. Collins (Wanda), Deer Park; one stepdaughter, Norma L. Dawson (Leo), Deer Park; one brother, DeWayne F. Watring, Rowelsburg, WV; one sister, Genevie B. Owens, Roanoke, WV; one son-in-law, Richard DeWitt; several grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Friends will be received a Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550, on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel following visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend George Tichinel officiating. Interment will be in the Shaffertown Cemetery, Lead Mine, WV.
