Donna’s Obituary Donna Berland, 64, Minot, passed away January 22, 2019 at home surrounded by love. Donna Jean Swenson was born to Marion and Donald Swenson on June 9, 1954. Donna attended Bowbells High School.

She graduated from Josephs School of Hair Design. She married Gary Berland in 1976. They lived in Kenmare, Williston, Bismarck, Dickinson, and Minot.

Donna worked as a cosmetologist. When they moved to Minot, she became a realtor at Century 21 Action and retired after 26 years in January 2018. Both professions allowed her to do what she loved – talk to people.

Donna had a vibrant personality. She offered everyone a genuine smile and made friends everywhere she went. She loved spending time at Woodland Resort in Devils Lake.

She was immensely proud of her daughter and grandchildren. They are her greatest legacy. Her loving family includes: husband of 42 years, Gary; daughter, Tera (Matt) Buckley; grandchildren, Keegan Buckley (13) and Tianna Buckley (11); mother, Marion Swenson; mother-in-law, Helen Smith; sisters, Michelle (John) McDonald and Debra (Tom) Dignan; nieces, Olivia McDonald and Robin Ranum; nephews, Ian McDonald and Riley Dignan; special friends, Karen Wetzel and Stephanie Usry; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Swenson, brother, Terry Swenson, and grandparents, Carl and Ella Swenson and Louie “Duke” and Carol Peterson. Celebration of Life Service: Friday, January 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle’s Wings Community Fellowship, Minot. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minot or Grand Forks Hockey Boosters.
