Jackie’s Obituary Jackie Stevens, 93, Glenburn, ND, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, in a Minot nursing home. Jacqueline Angela Forschen was born September 4, 1925, the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Arneson) Forschen, in rural Sherwood, ND. She was raised on a farm which was located in Wheaton Township, near Sherwood, she attended Wheaton Township School.

As a young adult, she assisted her parents in raising her brothers and sisters. Jackie came to Glenburn as a housekeeper in 1942. She was united in marriage to George C. Stevens November 6, 1943, in Sidney, MT.

They made their home on a farm located in Van Buren Township of Renville County, near Glenburn, ND, where they farmed small grains and raised livestock. They farmed until the mid-1960s, when they moved into Glenburn. George then rented out the farm land and continued to custom combine.

George passed away March 15, 1985. Following her husband’s death, Jackie continued to reside in Glenburn and helped several elderly Glenburn residents with their Home Healthcare. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Glenburn, where she was very active as a deaconess, led and was treasurer of the White Cross Circle, and took care of the church flowers.

She was also a member of the 4-H Club, the Merry Maids Homemaker’s Club, and the Square Dance Club. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed canning, cooking, playing cards, square dancing, listening to music, and quilting. She was a fantastic seamstress who made her granddaughters’ wedding dresses, prom dresses and numerous matching outfits.

Her loving family includes: children, Delores (Dennis) Schaan, Minot, Donna Creek, Bismarck, ND, and her companion, James Hambek, Dennis Stevens, Las Vegas, NV, and Marvin Stevens, Glenburn, ND; grandchildren, Darla (Kelvin) Yliniemi, Deborah (Greg) Skjoldal, Denae (Mike) Vaughan, Delora Schaan, Rick (Shirley) Creek, and Stephanie (Chad) Maier; 13 great-grandchildren, Faith, Ryan and Justin Yliniemi, Cody Skjoldal, Cayla (Manuel) Palacios, Alex and Matthew Boechler, McKenna Vaughan, Zackary and Kadin Creek, C.J., Casen, and Cody Maier; four great great-grandchildren, Savannah Palacios, and Lillian, Mei and Helena Boechler; brother, Jerald (Laverne) Forschen, Fosston, MN; brother-in-law, Gorton Stevens, Lignite, ND, sister-in-law, Helen Forschen, Bismarck, ND; and several nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; infant son, Myron; two grandsons, baby boy Creek and Michael Creek; one great-grandson, Clint Maier; brother, Elmer (Irene) Forschen, Jr., Neiland Forschen, Dalton (Gladys) Forschen, Roger Forschen, and Donald (Elaine) Forschen; sisters, Florence (Harold) Pederson, and Marlene (Leroy) Dobson; brothers-in-law, Howard (Jo) Stevens, Roy (Clara) Stevens, Donald (Eloy) Stevens; sisters-in-law, Iva (Joe) Dooley and Marion Stevens. Funeral: Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Glenburn.

Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Glenburn, ND. Visitation: Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials: are preferred to First Baptist Church in Glenburn or to the ND Alzheimer’s Association.
