Lila’s Obituary Lila Weigel—-85, Minot, passed away on Tuesday, January 01, 2019 in her home. Lila Marie Olson was born on March 14, 1933, the daughter of Christian Peter and Iva Luella (Southerland) Olson on the family farm near Parshall, ND. She was raised and educated in Parshall, where she graduated in 1951.

Lila furthered her education by attending the Interstate Business College in Fargo. On June 1, 1952, Lila was united in marriage to Donald R. Weigel at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Parshall, ND. In 1954, they purchased the Weigel family farmstead, where they raised their family.

In 2005, Lila moved into Minot and on May 29, 2013, she moved into Edgewood Vista. Lila was a member of the Gladwyn L. Roberts Legion Auxiliary, and a charter member of Busy Fingers Homemakers Club, both of Roseglen, ND and of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake, playing cards, gardening, canning, baking, eating chocolate covered cherries and watching movies.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew her. Lila is survived by: Her Children: Robert Weigel, Mandan; Dean Weigel, Bismarck, Renee (Wayne) Klabunde, Garrison, ND, Debbie (companion Jeff Bruhn) Lee, Rock Lake, ND; Stuart (Companion Dianne Johnson) Weigel, Rugby, ND and Shawn (companion Jennifer Thom) Weigel, Minot; 13 grandchildren: 11 great-grandchildren: siblings: Burton (Sue) Olson, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Arnold Wenzel, sister Janice Barr, brothers Vance and Loren Olson and a daughter-in-law Sheri Weigel.

Visitation: Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Funeral Service: Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11 am at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
