James “Jim” or J.R.”‘s Obituary James “Jim or J.R.” R. Ross, 62, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Trinity Hospital in Minot. Jim was born February 6, 1956, in Minot, to Duaine and Sharlotte (Orndorf) Ross. He graduated from Minot High School in 1974 and attended classes at Minot State University.

Jim was employed by Koland’s, Inc., Minot Mobile Home Service, Greenberg Roofing, and was self-employed with J.R.’s Mobile Home Service for a number of years. He most recently worked in night maintenance at Trinity Nursing Home until poor health forced him to retire. Jim lived on land that was homesteaded by his ancestors in 1881 and enjoyed working outdoors, keeping up the property and most outdoor activities.

In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and trapping. He loved to “tinker” and could build, install, repair or fix almost anything that didn’t require computer technology. He always had a backlog of projects on which he was working.

Jim is survived by: his son, Shane (Tamara) Ross, Fargo, ND; daughter, Nicole Ross and granddaughter, McKenzie; mother, Sharlotte Reddick, Minot; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Burtch, Minot; brothers, Rob Teets, Minot, and Dalton Ross, Gilbert, AZ; special niece, Cami Teets; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. J.R. was preceded in death by his father, Duaine Ross; sister-in-law, Janice Ross, and infant sister, Jeannette Teets. A “Celebration of Life” will be held by the family at a later date.

There will be no public service.
