Obituary of John Edward Matousek John Edward Matousek, 67, of Esville, our outgoing, loving, motivated, one of a kind, and active husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Friday, April 20, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. John was born in Unionville on August 16, 1950, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Chapko) Matousek. He graduated from Unionville High School in 1969 and proudly served in the National Guard.

On June 26, 1981, John was united in marriage to the love of his life and soulmate, the former Kay McDonald. Throughout life, John was known for his hobby of building and collecting street rods, loved classic cars, fine dining, vacationing to tropical islands (especially Aruba), and above all, spending time with his family. John retired from General Motors as a supervisor after 44 years of service and was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Kay, John leaves to carry on his legacy, his two children, Jonathon Matousek and Shayna (Joel) Beson. Also surviving are his siblings, Beverly Woloszyk, Barbara (Chris) Exel, Geri (Bernie) Dole, and Marty (Leah) Schuch; father-in-law, Robert McDonald; sisters-in-law, Teri Matousek and Kelly (Connie) McDonald; beloved dog, Kylie Jo, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. John was welcomed home to heaven by his parents and his step-mother, Helen Matousek; mother-in-law, Carol McDonald; brother, James Matousek, and his brothers-in-law, Al Woloszyk and Kirk McDonald.

John’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for John at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. , Hampton Twp. On Friday, April 27, 2018, John will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Esville, where visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until John’s 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy.

Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. A Reception will follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s.
