CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Marvin Edward Johnson, 78, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. He was born in Castlewood, Virginia; son of the late Nat and Pearl Johnson. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, James, Stanford and Bill Johnson; three sisters, Lorraine, Mary and Irene Johnson; one sister-in-law, Lucilla Johnson and one brother-in-law, Donald Salyer.

He is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Sarah Ring Johnson; one brother, Ramond “Tenny” Johnson; three sisters, Marie Salyer, Elaine Helbert and husband, Marvin and Sandra Dorton and husband, Russell; two sister-in-law’s, Martha Johnson and Mary Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Marvin Edward Johnson will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Doug Trent officiating.

Committal Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Johnson Cemetery, Molls Creek, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Cody Ring, Randy Tomlinson, Stephen Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Jimmy Johnson and Brandon Helbert.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eylie Ring, Brice Ring, Marvin Austin and Mike Jessee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. The family would like to give special thanks to Eylie and Brice Ring.
