Obituary of Michael Sutter Michael F. Sutter, 68, of Bay City, our fun, loving, and devoted husband, dad, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on March 31, 2018 with his family by his side. Mike was born on November 29, 1949 in Bay City, the son of the late Emil D. and Eileen M. (Dumas) Sutter. After high school, Mike went on to serve his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

When he came home from the War, Mike was set up on a blind date with the former Vicki Schmidt. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 30, 1973. Together they shared nearly 45 years of marriage, two sons, and countless memories.

Mike worked at numerous machine shops as a CNC operator and retired from Sam’s Club. Throughout life, Mike enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping with his grandchildren, and cheering on the University of Michigan. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was a very dedicated Papa, his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Vicki; their two sons, Jeffrey (Sara) Sutter and Kevin (Kristin) Sutter; grandchildren, Braedan Sutter, Brooklyn Sutter, and Addison Sutter; siblings, Paula (Allan) Dupont of Green Bay, WI, Andrea (Bob) Stewart, Mark (Evelyn) Sutter of Baltimore, MD, Gregory (Janet) Sutter, Roberta Sutter, Gretchen (Rudy) Velasquez, and Kristin (Rod) Chevalier; in-laws, Jan (Tim) Johnson, Dave (Berniece) Schmidt, Paul Schmidt, and Marianne (Jim) Hitchcock, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was welcomed home to heaven by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Merilyn Schmidt. Mike’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd.

, Hampton Twp. On Friday, April 6, 2018, Mike will be taken to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 501 S. Catherine St., Bay City, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until the time of his 11:00 AM Memorial Service. Pastor Andreas Teich will officiate with private interment to take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
