ROBERT T. BURKITT, 77, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord at Oakwood Village on Saturday evening, June 2, 2018. He was born in Bethel, Ohio on September 19, 1940, the son of the late James Edward and Garnet Ruth (Massie) Burkitt. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army near the end of the Korean War.

He retired from Cascade Corporation following over 40 years of service. (Niger) Rojas, Allyson Montero, Christian and Cassie Owens, and Hannah, Benjamin, Jayden, and Jacob White; a great grandson, Gabriel A. Rojas; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Wayne Burkitt and two brothers, James A. “Buck” Burkitt and Ray V. Burkitt.

Bob’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Britton officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
