Corbo April 16, 1930 – January 11, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists View/Sign Guest Book WOLCOTT, CT Salvatore Corbo “Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather” Mr. Salvatore “Sal” Corbo, 88, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Bernice (Francis) Corbo. Salvatore was born in Waterbury on April 16, 1930, son of the late Canio and Domenica (Summa) Corbo.

Sal and his brother, Canio, opened Corbo Bros. Plumbing and Heating in 1954, where he worked until opening his own business, Brassco Plumbing and Heating. He worked for the City of Waterbury as the Heating Inspector.

Sal was a dedicated Republican, and an avid baseball fan. Besides his wife, Bernice, of 69 years he leaves a son, Louis Corbo and his wife, Robin, of Charlotte, NC, two daughters, Virginia Chepurna and her husband, Robert, and Rose Corbo Langley, both of Waterbury, two brothers, Anthony Corbo of Waterbury, and Richard Corbo of AZ, one sister, Genevieve Filipelli and her husband, Ralph, of Middlebury, five grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Rachel, Cassandra and Stacey, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jazmine, a daughter-in-law, Darleen Corbo of Colchester, CT. , and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Michael Corbo, two brothers, A. Ralph Corbo and Canio Corbo, and three sisters, Catherine Pelosi, Carmela Lamberti and Rosemary Macleod. Arrangements: Calling hours for Sal will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
