Robert Steven Benda, age 61, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at his home. Steve was born on August 28, 1956 in Granite City, IL, a son of Billie (Irvin) Buchholz of Granite City, IL, and the late Robert L. Benda. Steve worked at the Amazon Distribution Center in Edwardsville, IL.

He was a talented artist and he enjoyed listening to all types of music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Steve never met a stranger, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Steve will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends. In addition to his dear mother, Steve is survived by his loving brothers, Daniel (Deborah Langston) Benda, Phillip (Kim) Benda and Andy (Heather) Richards all of Granite City, IL; proud uncle to Phillip Benda, Michael Benda, Ryan Benda, David Benda, Stephanie Benda, Mackenzie Richards and Dominic Richards; extended family and many devoted friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL.

In celebration of his life, funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www. irwinchapel.com.
